What do I need to get started as a Taxi Driver?

You will need a Northampton Hackney Carriage or Private Hire Driving Licence to start work, to obtain a licence the following is required:

​

• Full DVLA driving licence for three years

• Be over the age of 21

• Pass a Northampton knowledge/locality test 

• Pass a Taxi Driver Driving Assessment Test

• Be able to pass a medical test 

• Pass a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS)

You can join our fleet with your own hackney carriage taxi or private hire vehicle, alternatively we can help source one for you to rent.
